Taiping - Qingming or Ching Meng Festival

Qingming Jie is known as Clear Brightness Festival and Tending Graves
or Tomb Sweeping Day ( Kwangtung cemetery in Taiping)

Qingming denotes a time for people to go outside and enjoy the greenery
of springtime and also to tend to the graves of departed.
Its significance is to remember & honour ancestors.

Qingming Jie - held on 15th day of Spring equinox- usually falls on April 5
on Gregorian calendar except on leap years. In 2008 it occurs on April 4.

loved ones to use and enjoy.

The Chinese believe there is a netherworld. There are many shops
in Taiping selling joss paper houses, paper cars, paper TV sets,
paper clothes, paper shoes, paper jewelery etc.
